SPRING IS ALMOST HERE

SPRING IS ALMOST HERE !

HAVE YOU NOTICED THE BIRDS CALLING OUT ?
WHEN THE TIDE COMES IN AND THE TIDE GOES OUT THERE
IS MUCH FOR THEM TO FIND FOR FOOD.
WALKING BY ONE STORE - NEXT TO IT WAS AN EMPTY LOT
WITH MUCH WATER IN IT.   IT WAS A TEMPORARY
"WETLAND"

TWO MALLARD DUCKS WERE ENJOYING THIS LITTLE BIT OF
POND THEY HAD FOUND.   TAKING THEIR TIME, THEY
SILENTLY FLOATED ON THE "WETLAND"...

Time has a way of eroding the beaches, and changing the landscape.   This photo was taken of a beach where the fine cottage people used to live in is now quite old, and left
without anyone in it.     In the same way,  our circumstances change.   We can never go back to "what we were" or to "what used to be"....

GOD NEVER CHANGES.     Things may change, people may change, but GOD
never CHANGES.

The birds migrate in the seasons, going in the Winter, and returning
in the Spring.   Sometimes whole flocks of birds arrive here from other places and will stay all winter, to leave when it gets warmer up North where they came from.

In the Springtime, along the mountain roads that wend their way across our land, there are many waterfalls that run down the sides of the mountains.     One Spring day about 15 years ago, my husband took my children and I from our home to a city about an hour away.    We counted the waterfalls and came up with a sum of about 82 waterfalls just in that brief time.   It was along the Columbia Gorge drive, from Hood River to Portland, and I remember the lasting memory of those waterfalls of snow melting in the Springtime.
Springtime in my heart is another matter.
Jesus said  "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.  He that
believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall
flow rivers of living water."   John 7.37,38

He was referring to the passage in the book of Isaiah 58.11 which says
"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones:  and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like
a spring of water, whose waters fail not."

In John chapter 4. verses 3,4.   Jesus left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.  He must needs go through Samaria.

Think of your own life, when you leave a part of your life to enter another.
Or, think of how it seems when you need to be refreshed on your way.   Yet somehow, obstacles to where you want to go enter into the picture.   Here, Jesus takes it as a matter of course, and sits at the well, very tired.    A woman comes, alone, and Jesus asks her for a "drink"      He is a Jew.   She is a Samaritan.   They are of alien peoples.
Yet Jesus asks her for a drink.
She asks him "How is it that thou being a Jew askest drink of me, for the Jews have no dealings with Samaritans?"    Jesus responds,  If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him and he would have given thee living water."    John 4. 8 - 10.
           She saith unto him, Sir,  thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep;
from whence then hast thou that living water?   John 4.10.
She continues:   Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us that well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?   John 4.11.
Jesus answered and said unto her:   Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.    John 4.13,14.

Think of Springtime and all the birds flocking home.    Robins are one example.
They fly together, and then stirring in home country they rest together before separating, each to their destination.   A farmhouse, a wooded area, a park, a little town.   Each knows where it is to go.   It remembers where it was raised.    It knows its home.

In the Spring,  let us ask the Lord to give us the LIVING WATER, that never fails.
Let us learn to drink of the Well of never failing refreshment, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior because He has given us of the Dear Spirit to live in our hearts and be our comfort our guide and our Teacher.     The dear Spirit that Jesus gives us when we believe on Him is the SEAL that someday, very much a reality, we will SEE  JESUS HIMSELF AGAIN and LIVE WITH HIM FOREVER.
Enjoy Springtime in your heart.   Find the Source of Living Water who is ready to give that water to you.     He is just a breath away.    He will never force Himself on you.   You have the right to choose.

Robins always build their nest where water is available nearby, and where they can safely lay their eggs.      May Spring be for you a time of refreshment and enjoyment of the new growth and the fragrant smells of shrubs and trees springing into buds.

Walk by Faith into the future, knowing God will give you CONSTANT HELP of refreshing Living Water in your soul.
